Sadee (Shiqi) Xu

Piano

 

A current Doctoral of Musical Arts student, Shiqi Xu is a versatile pianist who frequently performs as a soloist and chamber musician. Her artistry has seen her appear at various prestigious stages including Chicago’s Symphony Center, Steinway Hall (Milwaukee), Miller Recital Hall, Lehmann Hall at the Music Academy, Karl Geiringer Hall and more. Festival appearances include performing at the Lakeside Piano Festival, Festival Napa Valley, Hawaii Chamber Music Festival, and more.

As a student, she has held many music director positions for community churches, performing choral and organ music. Shiqi was the 2016 Carthage College Concerto Competition winner. This past summer, she was selected as the first-ever piano fellow for the Manetti Shrem Opera Program at Festival Napa Valley. She is the recipient of the prestigious Bothe-Hazel Memorial Award and Bridge Grant Scholarship.

With her love of teaching, she maintains a private studio as well being the lead pianist for Music Academy’s Sing! Program. Past teaching positions included Muzik Colab (NYC), the Masaki School of Music (Honolulu), and Carthage Arts Academy (Kenosha). Shiqi has performed in masterclasses for world renowned pianists Simone Dinnerstein, Jorge Federico Osorio, and Joanne Polk.

She completed her undergraduate studies with Dr. Wael Farouk at Carthage College and her MM Piano studies with Dr. Solomon Mikowsky at Manhattan School of Music, where she also studied organ with Mr. Christopher Berry and harpsichord with Ms. Jocelyn Stewart. She is currently studying at the University of California of Santa Barbara with Robert Koenig (solo piano and collaborative piano).
