The Wave of Life
Supporting Clean Water For Those In Need
The Hawaii Chamber Music Festival (HCMF) finished its second season in a collaborative concert with the Hawaii International Music Festival (HIMF) as they wrap up their third season.
Based on a water theme, HCMF and HIMF presented The Wave of Life, a concert that featured Schubert’s famous String Quintet in C major as well as other masterworks.
This concert was also a benefit fundraiser for charity: water to offer clean water supplies to people who do not have access them.
Led by Katie White and HCMF Founder Chris Yick, The Wave of Life concert donated $1 for every ticket sold to this cause.
The Wave of Life featured many internationally acclaimed artists in collaboration with some of Hawaii’s finest musicians.
International artists included Tchaikovsky prize-winning violinist Eric Silberger, Metropolitan soprano Amy Shoremount-Obra, pianist Carlin Ma, New York violist Andrew Gonzalez, and Louisiana Philharmonic Assistant Principal Cellist Daniel Lelchuk.
Local artists included Hawaii Symphony Concertmaster Ignace Jang, Hawaii Symphony Associate Principal Cellist Sung Chan Chang, and University of Hawaii-Manoa’s piano professor Jonathan Korth.
