Concluding the Chamber Olympics, HCMF will return once again to Orvis Auditorium with "Gems in Germany" on Sunday, August 18th at 4:00 PM. For this concert finale, HCMF welcomes Joseph Stepec, the University of Hawaii orchestra director and newly appointed Hawaii Youth Symphony director. This concert will be a benefit fundraiser for the University of Hawaii Symphony Orchestra (UHSO) which has been selected to perform in Europe in 2020. The program will include Beethoven's Violin Romance in G Major, Brahms' intimate Piano Trio No. 1 in B Major, and octets by Bruch and Mendelssohn.

Ludwig van Beethoven: Romance in G Major, Op. 40
Johannes Brahms: Piano Trio No. 1 in B Major, Op. 8
Max Bruch: String Octet in B flat Major
Felix Mendelssohn: String Octet in E Flat Major, Op. 20 (Mvts 1&4)

General Admission Tickets are $20 with all proceeds benefitting the University of Hawaii Symphony Orchestra 2020 Europe Tour and the Hawaii Chamber Music Festival.
